Chapter 316: Blacksmith’s Son’s Confession
Chapter 316: Blacksmith’s Son’s Confession
Just as he was explaining what he wanted in more detail—
"Old man, how is this supposed to--"
"..."
"...?"
Everyone stopped talking and looked up.
A young man who had suddenly entered the shop froze in place, staring straight at them.
If there were other plans, Qiong Xing looked toward Wayland, but the old craftsman was also staring at his son in confusion.
"If you are busy today, I can come another day--"
"I like you! Please marry me!!"
"..."
Everyone fell silent.
Qiong Xing thought, how impressive.
Young people really was something else.
He glanced to the side.
The girl who had introduced him was frozen in shock, so he decided this might actually be a good opportunity and quietly watched over the situation.
He did not know how much she had recovered since that incident, but since she did not seem afraid even when looking at Qiong Xing or Albe, it did not appear she was still deeply traumatized.
If that was the case, then someone who could openly express feelings like this might actually be a good match.
"That is amazing. It looks like love at first sight, but was he really her type?"
"..."
When Qiong Xing whispered to Albe so as not to interrupt, Albe gave him a look as if he were seeing something deeply disappointing.
Why?
Did he think Qiong Xing was being completely oblivious at a time like this?
Maybe he really was bad at reading the room. So, in order to not get scolded, he chose to stayed quiet.
An awkward silence immediately filled the shop.
The young man waited anxiously for an answer.
The girl looked around nervously, unable to respond.
Even Wayland seemed unsure of what to do about his son.
Deciding that outsiders should probably leave, Qiong Xing stood up.
"It would be difficult for the two of you to talk with us here. We will step outside for a moment, so please take your time--"
"Is I not good enough for you!?"
No idea, Qiong Xing thought.
Why was he being asked that?
Suddenly his arm was grabbed and the young man spoke with a desperate expression.
The grip was painful, so he wished he would let go.
As expected of a blacksmith’s son, he was strong.
"Let me go."
"What, who the hell are you!"
From Qiong Xing’s perspective, he was the one who should be introducing himself properly.
After thanking the girl who had helped him, he tilted his head at Albe who had stepped forward as if to protect him.
"Let him go."
"Hah? Why do I have to listen to you say that!"
The atmosphere was quickly turning hostile.
If this continued, the girl might get frightened, so Qiong Xing hurriedly stepped in to stop them and tried to leave the room with Albe.
"Wayland, I am sorry. We will continue this another time. For now, please excuse us--"
"Wait! Where are you going!"
The moment he tried to leave the room, someone grabbed his waist and pulled him back, while Albe who had been holding his hand quickly pulled him away in the opposite direction.
What is going on? What is happening here?
"Didn’t I tell you? I said to you to let go Qiong Xing!"
"Qiong Xing? Is that your name? Nice. I am Maevan. You can call me Evan."
"Why Qiong Xing should call you that! Hurry up and let him go already!"
The two were arguing loudly, but Qiong Xing who is getting caught between them could not understand any of it.
Why was the man acting so aggressively toward him after that passionate confession?
More importantly, it hurt.
He wanted his arm to be released.
The strong arm wrapped around his waist with no restraint was painful and suffocating.
"I am leaving, so please let go--"
"Why? More importantly, what is your answer?"
Answer? To what? Just let jim go first.
He twisted his body trying to escape as the grip tightened, but it did not loosen at all as if the man had no intention of releasing him.
"Enough. You are hurting me. Let me go."
"Forget that, what is your answer? I--"
Something inside Qiong Xing snapped.
As if reflecting his emotions, a cold wind seemed to sweep through the room.
"Let go of this hand. I dislike selfish fools who do not listen to what others say."
At Qiong Xing’s tone, Albe finally released his hand.
His expression looked unsettled, his gaze wandering nervously.
Wayland and the girl were also shocked by Qiong Xing’s sudden change, but he had already reached his limit.
Seeing that the hand still would not let go even after all this time, Qiong Xing took a breath and looked up at Wayland.
"You have been watching this whole time without doing anything. Is that because you are confused, or is it a threat that you will not take the request if I refuse?"
"W-what!? Sorry! You idiot, let go of his hand already!"
"Why? I mean I--"
"Shut up! What do you think you are doing to a customer, you fool!"
Thanks to Wayland, the boy was finally pulled off him, but the one who had been dragged away immediately started arguing back with his father as if ready to fight.
It looked like it might turn into a brawl, but Qiong Xing did not care in the slightest.
He used wind magic to trip the shouting young man, restraining him.
Once he could not move, Albe was asked to hold him down just in case.
"I have already told you many times to let go, have I not?"
"No, I was--"
"I am not listening to your opinions. I am asking whether I said it or not. I only require a yes or no."
Sitting down on a chair, Qiong Xing looked down at the young man who is collapsed on the floor.
It was unfortunate for the girl who had introduced him, but if this continued, he would cancel the entire request.
