Chapter 647 17: Industrial Revolution
Chapter 647 17: Industrial Revolution
LN Ship.
With the escort of the Polaris heavy armored troops, the journey ahead became much calmer.
In fact, on the way back, Su Ying detected a strong spiritual energy signal using interstellar armor, but the other party did not launch an attack. After following them for a short distance, they voluntarily retreated. These people were likely wary of their strength; any faction witnessing the battlefield littered with over a dozen super mutant corpses would have to seriously consider whether to compete for the Gospel Book.
Although Su Ying had yet to reach Beidou, a wealth of intelligence from the battle had already been sent back to the LN Ship, which then contacted the Nuwa Laboratory far in the East.
Su Ziyu's deployment of Queen Level interstellar armor was simply too astonishing; once the battle concluded, the commander of the reinforcements reported to the Beidou Headquarters.
Meanwhile.
A set of documents marked as classified was unlocked and presented to the high-level decision-making group of Beidou.
"Aliens?" In the conference room, a middle-aged man with a square face frowned at the decrypted data on the projection screen, his mechanical prosthetic arm tapping the table as he spoke in a deep voice, "I always thought this was just an unreliable rumor, but now you're telling me humanity had once performed an autopsy on alien corpses?"
"Some of these documents were obtained from the Far East Region." An elderly man sitting at the front of the conference room adjusted his glasses, his appearance resembling a scholar, and said slowly, "In the past, we had acquired some rumors about aliens."
"But we never found concrete evidence."
"From the latest intelligence, it seems aliens did visit Earth multiple times and kidnapped quite a few people for experiments."
"It seems like they're looking for something on Earth."
The projection screen flipped to the next page, revealing an image of a grey humanoid creature in an odd spacesuit—Zeta aliens, captured by humans before the apocalypse, along with their unexpectedly crashed spaceship. The documents noted some of the technologies humans obtained, including energy weapon technology, biological cryopreservation technology, anti-gravity magnetic force technology, and bio-gel technology, among others.
"Frankly speaking." Another scholar in his thirties stood up, glanced at the data on his computer, then said, "The technology mastered by these aliens compared to the armor data analyzed by Nuwa."
"Afraid it pales in comparison by more than just a little."
The exterior armor of the Zeta aliens in the documents wasn't much more advanced than current wasteland technology, and the power of their energy firearms didn't surpass that of laser rifles by much due to energy decay. Pre-apocalypse, energy weapons didn't become mainstream, and humans already possessed biological cryopreservation technology long ago. According to the documents, although the aliens had technology more advanced than humans, it wasn't overwhelmingly superior, perhaps only ahead by one or two centuries.
If the apocalyptic disaster hadn't occurred, humanity might have entered the interstellar era within a century according to the normal course of history.
The projection screen changed again, showing various mutant creatures and their origins.
—FEV Forced Evolution Virus.
The Genetics Faction's research achievements, creators of the super mutants; this faction probably initially contacted Zeta aliens, with some genetic technology acquired directly from alien corpses. The documents also included dissected humans and gene synthesis organisms created by aliens.
Though Zeta aliens visited Earth multiple times, they seldom stayed long, usually abducting one or two people before leaving.
Pre-apocalypse data is limited.
However, post-apocalypse, the activity of Zeta aliens increased around the Atomic Sea and other highly polluted regions. This information was shared with Beidou by the Brotherhood and the Academy, with the Academy's Genetics Faction possessing Zeta alien corpses.
After recovering part of the industrial system, Beidou also re-launched satellites, capturing strange electromagnetic wave signals, which upon decryption, gave peculiar information.
Technically speaking, these Zeta aliens were fully capable of conquering Earth post-apocalypse, provided their assumptions were correct; there might be their mothership within the Solar System.
Yet, in reality, every time the Zeta aliens landed on Earth, their stay was brief and they directly pursued their targets, likely abducting certain individuals before quickly taking off in their spaceship.
They seemed intent on concealing their existence, trying not to let humans notice.
And.
Zeta aliens naturally possessed mind sensing abilities, with documents explicitly stating they could use mind control on humans. Some surviving abducted humans described how they lost control of their bodies upon encountering aliens, completely following their instructions.
Further research by the Academy revealed Zeta aliens appeared afraid of staying on Earth.
Previously captured Zeta aliens went insane and died inexplicably after a while.
A part of the Academy's spiritual energy research was derived from dissecting Zeta alien brains, whose bodies had degenerated, yet their brains were exceptionally developed disproportionate to their bodies, allowing them to easily control an ordinary person with weak willpower.
The conference continued.
This time, Beidou decrypted a substantial number of classified documents, some from the Far East Region, some they discovered themselves, and others were provided by the Brotherhood and the Academy. But soon after, documents sent back by the LN Ship interrupted their recollections, as a scientist in a lab coat walked into the conference room with a shocked expression and said, "Dr. Zhou."
"Please take a look."
"The LN Ship has sent us some encrypted technological data, reportedly from the owner of the super battle armor, sent according to her father's instructions."
"The experts at the research institute analyzed it and feel the technology is real."
"However..."
"However, some of the technology is too advanced, especially the plasma magnetic containment technology, which is conservatively estimated to be about two hundred years ahead of our current technological level."
Su Ying and her team safely returned to the LN ship.
Upon arriving at the LN ship, Su Ying and the Gospel Book were tightly protected. The commander of Beidou properly arranged for Su Ying and her team while contacting the Brotherhood and Academy forces. Due to Su Ziyu's shocking method of airdropping Interstellar Armor, the commander of Beidou reported this matter directly to headquarters and 'protected' Su Ying strictly as per orders.
Beidou had limited knowledge of Su Ying, but her father was a name that resonated widely.
It was legendary that a man had defeated the Academy Genetic Faction, forcing them to completely withdraw from the North American Region, a powerful spiritualist who even now dared not appear openly in North America.
The title of Zeus.
He had consistently held the number one position among spiritualists in the Underworld for years.
All senior personnel at Beidou Headquarters were gathered together. After reviewing the data sent back by the LN ship, they unanimously concluded that this technology is definitely not something human beings can currently possess, at least not at Earth's technological level.
There had never been any mention of Zeus being a top-tier scientific researcher, so it is highly likely that Zeus acquired these technologies through some special means from other civilizations.
Just how strong can a top-tier spiritualist be?
Frankly, even Beidou was uncertain. From the intelligence they collected, the combat power Su Ziyu displayed when he destroyed the Mechanical Faction was no less than a Beidou corps using tactical nuclear weapons to level the ground in one go.
An individual strong to this extent—saying he could single-handedly take down an alien spaceship seemed believable to them.
Moreover, with Su Ying descending from the sky in a Super Battle Armor, Beidou's internal speculation that Su Ziyu might have captured an alien spaceship seemed more credible.
In this regard, Su Ziyu actually overlooked a few things. He didn't carefully review those technologies, but some of them were indeed used by the Ancient Lost Empire to develop colonial planets. The STC Lightweight Modular technology was most widely used in colonial planets to quickly collect resources, deploy light industry, synthesize food, and build super farms. These technologies could construct a frontier colonial city in the interstellar era within a month.
"Can we currently realize the conversion of these technologies?" asked a middle-aged official-looking man.
His gaze was fixed on the light industrial modular workshops and super farms before him. As Beidou's city clusters gradually established, their logistical pressure began to grow. Beidou had initially restored heavy industry, but according to the original plan, they needed to weather a difficult ten years before they could start restoring light industry.
But if these technologies can be applied, Beidou's light industry could reach pre-war levels in about a year.
"The super farms can be realized right now."
"We originally have a research project on soilless cultivation technology." An elderly man in a lab coat pushed up his glasses and said, "Lightweight modules might be a bit challenging; we need to first create an industrial mother machine with a plasma magnetic containment to do so."
"Otherwise, it simply couldn't meet the precision requirements for modular production."
At this time, an officer stood up and said, "What about weapons? What about electromagnetic rifles? What about Guard Armor? Can they be created now?"
"We need to reclaim the southern Yangtze River Delta city clusters. The population density there pre-war was too high, and the number of mutant creatures far exceeds estimates."
A group of technical personnel gathered for a discussion and then said, "We can give it a try."
"But the performance might be somewhat inferior in various aspects."
"The performance parameters of the Guard Armor are similar to our Power Armor; its only advantage is retaining the lightness and flexibility of an exoskeleton while achieving the protective level of Power Armor."
"Currently, it's not worth investing too many resources for broad implementation."
Beidou had its own Power Armor system, and the design directions of the two were different. At most, some advantages of the Guard Armor could be added, but a large-scale update and replacement were entirely unrealistic.
The discussion lasted until late at night.
The same thing happened at the headquarters of the Brotherhood and within the Academy Mechanical Faction. Members of the Brotherhood and Academy immediately sent people to pick up Su Ying back. After a round of discussion, Beidou did not obstruct them; instead, they dispatched a troop to establish a contact point at Polaris.
The young girl did not think much of it. She simply followed her father's instructions, handing over these technological materials to the three parties simultaneously, but she did not know the kind of shock these materials would bring to the forces of the Wasteland World.
A new industrial revolution began quietly in this way.
Everything can be modularized.
The mechanical faction of the Ancient Lost Empire referred to the STC Modular System like this; the empire that once occupied more than half of the Milky Way Galaxy relied on modular technology to defeat the swarms, orc beasts, and spirit races, among others.
So, even though Su Ziyu presented entry-level lightweight modular technology this time, the technological impact it caused was profound nonetheless.
In just three days.
Beidou, possessing a complete industrial system, began taking action. They dispatched large convoys into pre-war city clusters and instructed personnel to use stamping devices to crush cars abandoned in pre-war times into cubes with a diameter of about half a meter, then the troops clad in exoskeletons transported these metals back to the initially modified steelworks for recycling and refinement into new resources.
It was merely in just a day and a half that they recovered half of the useful metal resources from a pre-war third-tier city.
