Chapter 474: Accommodations - 1
Leo, who had been able to overhear the conversation between Oliver and the official, fell into deep thought.
Divine Flame Phoenix Physique? The words repeated in his mind.
He had once read in the library that there was a chance that one’s child would inherit the abilities of the parents’ tamed beasts as their innate talent. This way, a family line is created, with people having abilities that are almost the same but are inferior or superior depending on purity and type.
And Leo seemed to have stumbled upto one.
Virex... So Ronan’s sister has a physique-based talent.
"Sirs, please follow me to your private quarters."
As Leo, Aaron, and Ronan were about to enter the general accommodations together, they were stopped by the official who had been guiding them until then—the same one who had been speaking with Oliver earlier.
"About time!" Ronan said, as if he had been expecting this all along.
"I didn’t toil my way into the top 10 just to be treated like everybody else. Now take me to the place," Ronan said with a yawn, sounding genuinely sleepy.
"Sir Ronan, it’s only natural that powerful people like you receive VIP treatment. Please speak well of us to Lord Virex," the official said politely.
"Hmph, not happening until that Nirvan fucker is thrown out of the family. Now stop wasting time. I need my quality sleep."
The official didn’t dare say anything further and quietly escorted them away.
Behind them, Yano could be seen gritting his teeth in frustration as he stomped into the general accommodations. Not that his accommodation—or even the top 50 students’ accommodations—were bad. In fact, they were far better equipped than those of the top 500 students, with each person even being assigned personal maids. But they still couldn’t compare to what the top 10 were given.
Because...
"Well damn," Leo muttered upon seeing his personal quarters.
It was a luxurious two-storey, house-like residence furnished with elegant glass, stone, and wooden decor. Every detail had been meticulously arranged. But the most shocking sight stood right at the entrance.
A row of 6 maids stood together in elegant silk uniforms that perfectly balanced professionalism and allure. Their porcelain skin, graceful posture, and refined beauty made the entire scene mesmerizing.
The glossy fabric subtly traced their curves, while their composed expressions only enhanced their charm. Together, they didn’t look like ordinary servants at all, but temptations wrapped in discipline—each one attractive enough to make a man’s thoughts wander the moment his eyes landed on them.
And Leo knew exactly why they were here, especially after the official gave him a sly wink before leaving, one that said everything without needing words.
But there was one major flaw in the city management’s plan.
They hadn’t accounted for Naelith and Lyswenna, who looked far better than them.
The maids began giving them a tour of the house, guiding them through the halls, kitchen, bathing area with a private pool, and finally the bedroom.
At the center of it stood a king-sized bed large enough to fit 7 people.
7 people... Leo thought. The number felt oddly convenient.
When it was finally time for Leo to bathe, some of the maids actively tried to follow him into the bathing area to assist him, only to be stopped at the entrance by Naelith and Lyswenna.
"Lord doesn’t wish to be disturbed. Please return," Naelith said calmly.
After several failed attempts, the maids had no choice but to back away.
It was then that Lyswenna finally snapped.
"Naelith, how can these women be this shameless? Did you see how they kept trying to show their cleavage at every opportunity?"
Naelith nodded, equally disgusted.
"Not just that, some of them weren’t even wearing undergarments! I could literally see the outline of their erect areolas through the fabric! They were practically dripping at the mere sight of our Lord. He was even trying his best not to look at them. I’m sure that if he weren’t maintaining his integrity, he would’ve already kicked them out."
"Lord? Before he even got the chance, I would’ve done it myself. Sister Lily trusted us to protect him. Since he’s already strong enough to handle real threats, it’s our job to stop things like this," Lyswenna said firmly. "Let’s stay alert and make sure nobody sneaks into his room."
Naelith scoffed softly.
"If anyone actually tries, I’m pretty sure we’ll end up finding half the house destroyed and her existence erased entirely. Lord’s patience is already thinning. I can feel it."
"True. Sluts like these deserve it. How many men have they already slept with? Carrying all their traces... yuck." Lyswenna nearly gagged at the thought.
And just as Naelith had predicted, when Leo came out after bathing, he didn’t look particularly pleased.
"You two, if you already feel clean enough, don’t use that bath. The air inside feels strange. It could affect anyone pseudo-4-star or below," Leo warned. "I’ll be meditating. If you want to sleep, then sleep. Since I’ll remain awake and monitor for any danger."
Using [Spiritual Sense], Leo carefully checked himself for hidden abnormalities while activating the [Half-Spirit] trait to remove any status ailments he might have absorbed during the bath.
Dryad [Niri] (Peak 3-star)
Royal Bloodline [5%] BloodBond 79% -> 80%
Traits:
[Fast Regeneration] - Unlocked
[High Mana Regeneration] - Unlocked
[Tough Body] - Partially Unlocked 99% -> Unlocked
[Half-Spirit] - Locked -> Partially Unlocked 1%
>Trait’s level is not enough to induce any physical attribute changes.
Even so, the trait slightly cleansed whatever lingering effect the drug in the bathroom had left on him.
"My Lord... was it an aphrodisiac?" Lyswenna asked quietly.
Leo nodded as they walked toward his room.
"Doesn’t this warrant a complaint? I’m sure the academy would take strict action," she said, irritation flashing in her eyes.
Leo shook his head.
"No. The officials simply want people like me to have ’good memories’ here so the city leaves a positive impression on us. It’s a tactic that would work on most people... but I’m not most people."
"But Lord, isn’t this looking down on the academy’s students? A prestigious institution like Aurelius Academy shouldn’t tolerate this."
Leo shrugged lightly.
"The Academy only cares that its students are respected, well taken care of, properly attended to, and unharmed. What the city is doing technically falls under ’taking care of’ and ’paying attention,’ so the Academy won’t interfere. I’m just the exception who dislikes this kind of thing. I’m pretty sure most people are enjoying themselves right now."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"And as for prestige, it’s not the Academy’s responsibility to elevate a student’s status. That’s the student’s own responsibility."
By then, they had already reached the room.
Leo entered inside while Naelith and Lyswenna remained standing guard outside instead of going to rest.
Their vigilance proved useful, successfully deterring the maids who kept returning under the excuse of asking whether Leo was "in need of anything."
