Chapter 408: Becoming His Wife in Name and in Fact
Chapter 408: Becoming His Wife in Name and in Fact
Caden Lockwood strode forward, grabbing Evelyn Morgan’s hand and pulling her straight out of the hotel.
Originally, with bodyguards by his side, there was no need for him to personally fight those scumbags.
But tonight, he was extremely annoyed by Evelyn Morgan, and since he couldn’t do anything about her, could he at least take it out on those societal parasites?
As for the aftermath and making sure those little bastards don’t have it easy, let the bodyguards handle it!
Once outside the bar, Caden roared at Evelyn, "Do you not have a brain? A girl like you running here, do you know how dangerous it is?"
Evelyn furrowed her brows, shrinking back at his shout.
She hated seeing Caden’s dark and angry face, especially when it was directed at her.
"Dangerous indeed!" Evelyn retorted without a pleasant tone, "There isn’t a good man in this world anyway. All they think about seeing a woman is those kinds of things!"
Evelyn still remembered that Caden was not interested only once in her body.
And when she was willing to offer herself to him, he... disappeared without a trace!
Although several days had passed, thinking about it now still filled Evelyn with anger and grievance.
Caden glared at Evelyn, his chest surging with intense anger.
What exactly happened between her and Logan Shaw that made her fall to the point of getting drunk at a bar?
Recalling Logan Shaw’s firm assertion that Evelyn liked him, Caden felt an urge to go mad and tear apart the seemingly naïve and fuzzy drunk woman in front of him.
"Get in the car." Caden restrained his rationality, "Let’s go home first. Look at how drunk you are!"
"What right do you have to control me?" Evelyn replied without a pleasant tone.
Caden couldn’t be bothered to speak with Evelyn, grabbing her hand and pulling her directly into the car.
Evelyn didn’t resist either. After all, she was indeed tired and it was time to go home.
Caden drove the car, the atmosphere inside reaching an icy point, making it difficult to even breathe.
But Evelyn acted as if nothing was wrong, sprawled on the seat, already starting to snore in her sleep.
Caden was even more furious, gripping the steering wheel tightly, wanting to pry open Evelyn’s mind to see what’s inside.
Yet with Evelyn sitting in his passenger seat, his expression finally softened a bit.
And as for... Logan Shaw?
Caden’s face bore a mix of scorn and pride.
At first, Logan Shaw and Caden’s cars weren’t far apart, both heading toward where Evelyn was.
Of course, Caden wouldn’t let Logan Shaw interfere with his meeting with Evelyn, so he had a bodyguard create an "accident" scene to cause a traffic jam.
Logan Shaw was now stuck halfway, probably not getting here for another half hour!
A flash passed through Caden’s eyes, and upon looking at Evelyn again, his gaze suddenly tightened.
Evelyn lay in the passenger seat, not caring at all about her appearance, and paying no mind to the fact that she was wearing a dress, as if she had no defenses against the man beside her.
The hem of the dress rode up, revealing her white, smooth thighs, and most of her safety shorts were already exposed.
Caden’s breath caught, his gaze falling on Evelyn, scanning her over and over, with the heat within him intensifying, awakening a desire in a certain part of his body.
He remembered she had said before that once her period was over, she was willing to be his wife both in name and in reality.
So tonight, could something happen between them?
Could it be that their first time together would occur while she was in a drunken state?
